Steven B. Steelin, former Wixia board member turned full-time luxury enjoyer, is taking legal action after what he describes as “the most expensive emotional heist of the decade.” His target? A woman he went on one date with.
According to Steelin’s lawsuit, the unnamed woman engaged in a “calculated act of affection fraud,” leading him to believe they had a real connection — only to disappear the next day. “She laughed at my jokes. She listened to my stories about the early days of Wixia. She even acted interested when I explained why my wine cellar has both Italian and French vintages,” Steelin stated in his complaint. “Then, without warning, she ghosted me. I have suffered irreparable emotional damage.”
The damages, of course, are quantifiable — Langston is seeking reimbursement for the lavish dinner, a diamond bracelet he almost gifted her, and the emotional suffering of “falling for someone who clearly didn’t respect the gentleman’s code of scheduled text replies.”
Legal experts are calling this case a “desperate cry for attention wrapped in legal jargon,” while the defendant, upon being reached for comment, simply stated:
“I went on a date. I left. That’s how dates work.”
